It was Monday, December 29th, 2014 and the 5 Spot was hosting it's weekly "Motown Monday" dance night. Two strangers reluctantly came out to the party after being convinced with the same line by their separate friends: "it's the last Monday of the year!" Those two strangers? Well, we've been together ever since.

Fast forward to Monday, December 26th, 2022. It's the last Monday of the year and Trevor asked Jo-Jo to be his wife--of course Jo-Jo said "Yes!" We had to hold off on starting wedding plans because both of us were also enrolled in school to support our career choices (Jo-Jo just graduated with her Master's in Yoga Therapy 08/24 and Trevor is finishing his Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering in 05/25). Even the task of figuring out a wedding date that made sense to us was seemingly impossible with the homework haze surrounding us. That is until this summer when Trevor had a moment of clarity and suggested "what about the last Monday of the year?" Of course! It made perfect sense! The last Monday was always our date since the day we met.

On Monday, December 30th, 2024, after nearly a decade of togetherness, we're ready to finally say "I do!" We have individually experienced each other in a genuine way, and have a deep commitment to supporting and elevating each other to be our best selves. Our goal is to live a life together filled with meaningful purpose and joy.
